Where we work

Based in Bougouni, rooted in seven local authorities

Our head office is in Bougouni and our statutes allow us to operate throughout the country. In 2025 we worked with seven local authorities in the Bougouni and Yanfolila circles.

Who we are

An association serving rural territories

Created by registration receipt on 24 December 2019 and a signatory of a framework agreement with the State of Mali since 10 May 2024, GAMS-MALI was born from its founders’ wish to meet the demands of a national organisation that has stayed close to the rural world and can bring innovation to it.

Its ambition: to become a national reference in supporting the development projects and programmes of communities, territories and rural socio-professional organisations.

Areas of intervention

Twelve fields, four main orientations

Our statutes cover twelve fields. We group them here into four orientations to make them easier to read.

Our approach

Communities that are informed, trained, empowered and organised

A participatory and inclusive approach, the key to ownership and lasting results.

  1. Inform and raise awareness

Sharing information with communities and elected officials so that everyone understands the stakes of their territory.

  2. Train and empower

Building the capacities of local actors so that they take charge of their own development.

  3. Organise

Supporting organisations and networks of organisations in carrying out local development plans.

In the field

Our latest activities

In 2025, GAMS-MALI received no external funding. The association kept its presence in the field with a minimum package of activities funded from its own resources, to consolidate its relations with local actors.
