Since May 2025, GAMS-MALI has been leading a participatory process to develop a joint integrated project for seven local authorities in the Bougouni region: Bougouni, Danou, Faradiélé, Faragouaran and Kouroulamini (Bougouni circle), Bolo-Fouta and Wassoulou-Balé (Yanfolila circle).
Involving the technical services from the start
A simplified data-collection tool was sent to twelve services: the regional directorates of Agriculture, Animal Production and Industries, Veterinary Services, Sanitation and Pollution Control, Water and Forests, Rural Engineering, Water Supply, Fisheries, Social Development and Solidarity Economy, and Promotion of Women, Children and the Family, as well as the Bougouni Referral Health Centre and the Pedagogical Animation Centre.
The aim is to gather their analyses (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats), identify the actions to prioritise in line with sector plans and guide technical choices.
Work schedule
The work schedule provided for:
- first, data collection from mayors and technical services, from May to September 2025;
- then, drafting of a preliminary project and then the project document, in September and October 2025;
- finally, presentation to the administrative authorities, then submission of the project document to donors, planned between 15 and 30 November 2025.
